The Management Board of Municipal Infrastructure and Transport of Krakow (ZIKiT) has received seven applications to participate in competitive dialogue regarding a tram PPP project in the city. Three teams will be selected to participate in the dialogue, which is expected to last 15 months, before one is awarded a 24-year PPP contract to design, construct, finance, operate and maintain a 4.5km-long tram line.

The seven respondents are:

  • NDI
  • Vardun
  • Via North
  • Emsworth Investments
  • Budimex, Asfalt Śląski WPRINŻ and FBSSerwis in consortium
  • PPP Solutions Polska and Gulermak in consortium
  • Mota-Engil

The successful bidder will also extend the existing Mistrzejowice tram loop, construct a 940m-long tunnel with an underground stop and reconstruct approximately 10.3km of the street-road system surrounding the tramway. Construction is expected to be completed within four years of commercial close.
