Tender launched for power transformers in Nepal

The Nepal Electricity Authority has launched a tender for qualified developers for designing power transformers at various substations in Nepal.

The selected partner will be responsible for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of power transformers. To be eligible to tender, bidders must have:

  • a turnover of the best 3 years within the last 10 fiscal years with US$15.38 million;
  • a minimum experience in participation as a General Contractor, Managing Contractor or Subcontractor in at least an EPC/Turnkey/ DB Contract over the past 10 years worth at least US$12.30 million, which have been successfully or substantially completed;
  • successfully executed the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of at least 4 nos. of Power Transformers of 100 MVA Three Phase, 110 kV or higher capacity at higher voltage level;
  • bidder's offer must equal or exceed US$18.45 million.

The term of the contract is 18 months. Interested bidders must pay the amount of NPR 20,000 (US$149.17) as the cost of the bidding documents.
