US$1.5 billion Highway PPP Project will be awarded in Peru
The Private Investment Promotion Agency (PROINVERSIÓN) announced that in July, it will award the megaproject Longitudinal Highway of the Sierra Section 4 in Peru.
This ambitious project will be executed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with a total estimated investment of US$1.582 billion. Its execution will allow for the rehabilitation, construction, improvement, and maintenance of the road for a period of 25 years, ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of the infrastructure.
The project involves the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of 965.2 km of highway. The investment consists of three types of interventions: 5.20 km of construction of the new San Clemente Bypass; 179.3 km of rehabilitation and improvement of the existing Huancayo-Izcuchaca and Izcuchaca-Mayocc sub-sections; and 780.7 km of initial periodic maintenance of the existing Mayocc-Ayacucho-Andahuaylas-Puente Sahuinto and Ayacucho-Huaytará-Pisco Division sub-sections.
The selection process has eight qualified bidders: Sacyr Concesiones SL, Concesionaria Vial del Centro, Obrascon Huarte Lain SA, China Communications Construction Company Ltd (Peru Branch), Consorcio Carretera de los Andes, Operadora Surperú SA and Consorcio R&R.
