The Welsh Government is initiating market engagement for a GBP100 million (US$116.6 million) A483 Llandeilo and Ffairfach bypass project, part of the 2023 National Transport Delivery Plan.

The project involves constructing a new road to bypass these areas, with a preferred route already selected. The early market engagement process will inform the design of the project’s delivery and contracting models. It will include an in-person event on 27 October at the Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff, followed by a questionnaire inviting industry views on procurement strategy, climate change, commercial terms, project scope, and barriers to bidding. Interested organizations must register attendance or request the questionnaire by emailing A483LlandeiloandFfairfach@arcadis.com. Completed responses are due by midday on 10 November. The works package, estimated at £100m excluding VAT, is expected to run from July 2026 to February 2031. The procurement, scheduled for publication in February 2026, will cover both multidisciplinary consultancy and construction contracts.
