QatarEnergy is a key stakeholder in the Ras Abu Fontas Power and Water Project, also known as Facility E, a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing Qatar's energy and water production capacities. The project involves the construction of a combined-cycle power plant with a capacity of 2,400 megawatts (MW) and a desalination facility capable of producing 110 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of potable water. The facility is expected to contribute approximately 16% of Qatar’s electricity supply and 17% of its desalinated water upon completion in 2029.
