Colombia launches second 4G highway tender

Colombia's National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has launched a tender process to develop the  Santa Ana - Mocoa - Neiva motorwat PPP project.

The project involves the development of 22 km of four-lane highway, 32 km of two-lane highway and the upgrade of a stretch of 422 km road. The project includes the development of 3 tunnels and 3.5 km of several bridges, among others.

According to the president Germán Vargas Lleras, the concession is valued at US$1.24 billion.

The project is part of the second wave of concessions of the 4G highway plan. This second phase will involve a total of 10 projects and require US$7.2 billion.

Interested parties must submit their proposals on or before 30 April 2015. The project is scheduled to be awarded on 9 June 2015.

The tender documents for the project were published in December 2015 together with three other road PPP projects:

  • Rumichaca - Pasto, which involves the development of a new 74-km highway and the upgrade of the road between Rumichaca and Pasto.
