China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) has been selected as the preferred bidder for the South Wuhu City River-crossing Tunnel PPP project in China.
Specifically the contract has been awarded to a consortium comprising China Railway Construction Investment Co., Ltd. and China Railway 14th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., both wholly owned subsidiaries of CRCC.
The project has a total length of 5.77 kilometers, including the shield tunnel of 4.96 kilometers. The construction term of the project is approximately 54 months, which will be followed by a toll collection term of 25 years.
The total project investment is estimated at RMB4.35 billion (US$710 million), excluding land requisition and demolition costs and temporary land use expenses sponsored by the government.
Wuhu Municipal Government has a 5% shareholding in this project.
Wuhu is a prefecture-level city in southeastern Anhui province, China. Its population was 3,545,067 inhabitants at the 2010 census.
