EllisDon and Fengate Capital complete Mental Health Care center in Ontario

Integrated Team Solutions (ITS), a joint venture of EllisDon Corporation and Fengate Capital Management Ltd, have completed construction of the Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care P3 project in Ontario.

The project cost has been CA$474.1 million. The construction project began in February 2011. The new building will be open for patient care on March 3, 2014.

The contract includes design, construction, financing and maintenance for 30 years.

Using the Government of Ontario's Alternative Finance and Procurement model for Waypoint achieved an estimated $83 million (15.7 per cent) in cost savings compared to a traditional design-build approach.

The new hospital is build on the hospital's existing site. It replaces the 160-bed Oak Ridge building and the 20-bed Brébeuf building, offering a larger, more modern space for treatment and care for people with a mental illness who are involved with the justice system.

The facility was designed by Cannon Design and Honeywell Limited will provide facilities management. National Bank Financial Inc. acted as the financial advisor to ITS.

ITS signed the P3 project on January 31st, 2011 after being awarded the project on November 22nd, 2010.
