USD351.6 million contract awarded for Rail line PPP project in Canada

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have awarded a CAD443 million (USD351.6 million) contract to EllisDon Infrastructure Transit (EDIT) to design, build and finance (DBF) the GO Expansion – Lakeshore West Infrastructure Improvements project in Canada.

The selected consortium consists of EllisDon Capital Inc., Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Stantec, Strasman Architects, Mulvey + Banani International Inc, Aquila Group, Stephenson Engineering Ltd and Thurber Engineering Ltd.

The scope of works for the GO Expansion – Lakeshore West Infrastructure Improvements includes:

  • Long Branch GO Station improvements and accessibility;
  • Burloak Drive Grade Separation;
  • Drury Lane pedestrian bridge replacement;
  • Enabling works for electrification.

The pre-construction works for the project will begin in spring 2022 with construction to start in the fall. The construction phase will create around 200 jobs.
