The consortium comprising STRABAG and GEIGER has been awarded a contract to build a 15.7 km long section of the A3 motorway between Câmpia Turzii and Chețani for EUR85 million (US$84.6 million) in Romania.

Once completed, the A3 will cover 588 km starting from the Romanian capital of Bucharest via the commercial centres of Ploiești, Brașov, Cluj-Napoca and Oradea to Borș on the Hungarian border, where it will connect to the Hungarian M4 motorway.

The construction of the Câmpia Turzii - Chețani section is expected to start in 2022 and will take approximately 18 months.
