ACS Group has partnered with Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), an infrastructure investment firm under BlackRock, to establish a 50-50 joint venture focused on developing and operating advanced data centers worldwide. This new platform leverages ACS's extensive expertise in engineering, construction, and technology—bolstered by its subsidiaries like Turner Construction Company and Leighton Asia, which have already delivered over 5.5 GW of data center capacity—to combine with GIP's robust investment capabilities, aiming to provide comprehensive, end-to-end solutions for hyperscalers, AI enterprises, and other clients demanding rapid, scalable, and eco-friendly infrastructure. At launch, the venture boasts an initial portfolio of 1.7 GW in data center assets under development across Europe, the United States, and Australia, valued at around €2 billion on a fully diluted basis, with ACS receiving an upfront cash payment of €1 billion plus potential earn-outs up to €1.2 billion tied to milestones and pipeline expansions. Looking ahead, the partnership is evaluating a promising pipeline exceeding 11 GW of projects in North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific, emphasizing modular designs, integrated renewable energy sourcing, advanced cooling systems, and sustainability measures to address the explosive growth in AI and cloud computing demands while minimizing environmental impact.
