Azerbaijan's State Water Resources Agency and the Saudi company ACWA Power have signed an Agreement on the Design, Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of a Desalination Plant in the Caspian Sea.
The agreement covers the stages of design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance. The project aims to ensure efficient water resource management in the region and to increase the supply of drinking water. Additionally, a Purified Water Purchase Agreement was signed at the forum by Mikayilov, Chairperson of the United Water Supply Service for Major Cities, Tahir Khalilov, and M. Archelli. The project has attracted over US$400 million in Foreign Direct Investment, as announced by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
