Brazil launches tender for two highway lot concessions in Minas Gerais

The Government of Minas Gerais in Brazil with support from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) has published two tender notices for two highway lots covering 1,100 km of highway in the state.

The lots are Triângulo Mineiro (627.4 km highway) and Sul de Minas (454.3 km highway). The scope of works includes duplication works on the Ponte do Rio Araguari highway with approximately 68 km of additional lanes and works on a stretch of BR-365.

The estimated investment value for the project is BRL4.5 billion (US$783.17 million) with expected investments of BRL2.4 billion (US$417.85 million). The auction for these two lots is planned to be held in March 2022 at São Paulo Stock Exchange. The concessionaire will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and conservation services of the stretches for 30 years.
