The Municipality of Campinas in Sao Paulo, Brazil will receive studies related to the people mover system, that will connect the city center to Viracopos airport. The system will be developed utilizing an 18 km-long elevated railway line, which will be an independent system from the metro network.

The authority launched last year an Expression of Private Interest (MIP) notice after BYD submitted a proposal for the SkyShuttle system. It also invited consortium formed by the companies TS Infraestrutura e Engenharia, Aerom Sistemas de Transportes, FBS Construção e Pavitação and Jofege – Pavimento e Construção to present their proposal for the project.

The authority expects to receive the technical, economic-financial, legal, and operational solutions for the implementation of the project. The segregated system will also have multi-model nodes providing interconnection with other modes of public transportation.
