The General Directorate of Concessions of the Ministry of Public Works published the call for bids in the Official Gazette for the Second Concession of the Route 5 project, Collipulli-Temuco section.
The project has an estimated official budget of approximately US$1.145 billion. The initiative is located in the Araucanía Region and covers the communes of Collipulli, Ercilla and Victoria, in the Malleco province; and the communes of Perquenco, Lautaro, Vilcún, Temuco, Padre Las Casas, Freire, Pitrufquén and Gorbea, in the Cautín province.
The section of Route 5 that comprises the Concession Project has an approximate length of 144.2 km, extending from the south of the city of Collipulli (south of the Cemetery footbridge) at Dm 574.177, to the south of the town of Gorbea at Dm 718.335, and contemplates a profile of dual carriageway one-way along its entire route. The concession, in general terms, consists of the expansion, improvement, construction, maintenance, and operation of both existing and new infrastructure along the section of Route 5 covered by the concession.
The tender will be international and may be entered into by natural or legal persons, national or foreign, considered individually or within a bidding group, who meet the requirements and demands established in the Public Works Concessions Law, in the Regulations of the Public Works Concessions Law and in the Bidding Documents. The bids will be received by the Opening Committee in a public ceremony on August 11, 2026, at 12:00 pm, in the auditorium of the Ministry of Public Works, located at Morandé Street No. 71, 3rd floor, Santiago.
