The Delhi government, through the Public Works Department (PWD), is undertaking a public-private partnership (PPP) initiative to redevelop and beautify neglected spaces beneath flyovers and along major road corridors across Delhi. Under the initiative, a 2.5-km stretch between Deepali and Mangolpuri Market beneath a flyover will be transformed into a clean and green community space by a private firm. The work will include fencing, landscaping with native plants, grass, shrubs and flowering species, as well as the installation of murals on 61 flyover pillars covering approximately 5,100 sq m.

Separately, under a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, another private firm will develop and maintain approximately two acres of green belt along Mathura Road and MP Road. The broader redevelopment programme will address issues including garbage dumping, encroachments, unauthorised settlements and unplanned use of public spaces. Planned improvements include plantation, landscaped green areas, walkways and better lighting, with the government seeking to use PPPs to improve the maintenance, safety and appearance of underutilised urban spaces.
