Eneva to acquire Termofortaleza for US$83.5 million

Eneva has announced the conclusion of an agreement to acquire of Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant Central Geradora Termelétrica Fortaleza S.A (Termofortaleza) owned by Enel Brasil S.A. for BRL431.6 million (US$83.5 million).

The conclusion of the Termofortaleza acquisition agreement includes contingent payments for the future rehiring of the plant of BRL97 million. By concluding the agreement, Eneva will strengthen its thermal power generation activities in the North East. The completion of the transaction between the two companies requires approval from CADE, the Board of Directors of Enel Américas, and other shareholders.

Eneva is a power generation company based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, engaged in natural gas exploration and production (E&P) and supply of customized solutions. Eneva operates 11 natural gas fields in the Parnaiba (Massachusetts) and Amazon (AM) basins. Termofortaleza is a 327 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant. The station is part of the Pecém industrial and port complex.
