Matarat Holding, in partnership with the National Center for Privatization & PPP (NCP), has shortlisted five bidders for the US$800 million Taif International Airport project in Saudi Arabia. The five qualified consortia include GMR Airports, Bengaluru International Airport Ltd., with Tamasuk, Turkey's TAV Airports, with Mada International Holding, an Ireland-based DAA International-led group, and the Kalyon Insaat consortium.

The project will be delivered under a 30-year build-transfer-operate framework. The proposed airport will include a commercial passenger terminal sized to accommodate forecast demand up to 2055, as well as associated support facilities, utility systems, and transport infrastructure. It is strategically intended to function as an alternative gateway for Umrah pilgrims. The new Taif International Airport will feature comprehensive infrastructure designed to meet current and future aviation demands. The project scope encompasses a commercial passenger terminal specifically designed to match projected capacity requirements and anticipated passenger demand patterns. Key infrastructure components include:

  • Commercial passenger terminal with capacity-matched design
  • Support buildings for operational requirements
  • Comprehensive utility networks
  • Car parking facilities
  • Access roads and transportation infrastructure
