John Laing Group, FCC, Meridiam, RATP Dev and Alstom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formally establishing a consortium to bid for the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of Dublin’s MetroLink.
Spanning 18.8 km, largely underground, the fully automated driverless metro will link major transport hubs and key destinations across Greater Dublin, providing the first direct rail connection between the city centre and Dublin Airport. The consortium unites leading specialists in infrastructure development, metro automation and maintenance, financing, and engineering, alongside partners with deep local knowledge of Dublin and its transport network. The consortium is working together to develop and submit a proposal for MetroLink and is currently gearing up for the pre-qualification and bidding stages. Its members bring together metro expertise, technical know-how, project management skills, operational excellence, and financial capacity — a combination well-suited to delivering a project of this scale and complexity.
Alstom, a global leader in integrated transport solutions, will bring its deep expertise in metro systems and rail technology. FCC, renowned for delivering major infrastructure projects, will oversee the civil engineering works. RATP Dev, a specialist in high-capacity urban rail and complex operations, will contribute knowledge in operations and maintenance. On the financial side, Meridiam — an international developer, investor, and long-term rail asset manager — together with John Laing, a respected infrastructure investor and manager, will provide investment expertise and long-term funding capabilities.
