Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tánaiste Simon Harris launched the MetroLink Market Engagement Event in Dublin, Ireland.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), in collaboration with the National Transport Authority (NTA), is overseeing the MetroLink project, with construction expected to span approximately nine years. The project has secured €2 billion from the Infrastructure, Climate and Nature fund and is a key component of Project Ireland 2040, as well as the Transport Strategy for the Greater Dublin Area. MetroLink, a fully automated, high-capacity metro system, aims to revolutionize public transportation in Dublin. Stretching about 19km, it will link Swords to Charlemont, passing through Dublin Airport and the city centre. The metro will boost national connectivity by integrating with regional transport networks and improving access to educational institutions, hospitals, and major employment centers, fostering inclusive and seamless mobility across Ireland. The MetroLink briefings will provide critical updates on the program, including:

  • MetroLink’s central role in the updated Irish National Development Plan (NDP)
  • Current details on expected bid costs
  • Introduction to the MetroLink Executive Team, featuring leaders with extensive experience in large-scale metro projects
  • Clarification of the Enforceable Railway Order status
  • Information on the DBFOM contract terms and capital contributions

Additionally, the briefings will outline the procurement timeline for:

  • M401 NEC (Station box and tunnel civil works)
  • M402 NEC (Station box and tunnel civil works)
  • M500 DBFOM (Stations, systems, operations, and maintenance)
