The Goa cabinet on Monday approved seven development projects collectively valued at ₹2,500 crore (US$278 million), to be taken on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis in the coastal state.
Following the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told the media that choosing the PPP model would enable quicker execution of the projects while avoiding the need for state-funded investment. The initiatives covered under this approach include the redevelopment of the Junta House and Circuit House buildings in Panaji, the construction of a new Prashasan Stambh nearby, the rebuilding of government quarters at St Inez in Panaji, the reconstruction of the government garage, and the development of the Kadamba Transport Corporation’s bus terminal in Vasco, South Goa.
