Investors showed interest in 5G highway PPP projects in Colombia

Almost 25 international investors across the world have shown interest in three infrastructure PPP projects being carried out by the Government of Iván Duque in the Caribbean Region of Colombia.

These three transport projects are expected to create up to 100,000 jobs in the region. Two of them are part of the Bicentenario-5G concession program. More information about the projects:

  • Ruta Caribe 2 Highway PPP project: The COP1.8 billion (US$450 million) project involves the construction of 79 kilometers of second lanes, 16 kilometers of variants, and 8 intersections as well as the operation and maintenance of 253 km of the corridor.
  •  Canal del Dique PPP project: The COP3.25 billion (US$812.5 million) project involves the rehabilitation of the 115 km long Canal del Dique in the Bolivar Department. It will generate 61,766 jobs in the process.
  • New Cartagena airport: The COP3.08 billion (US$770 million) project involves the designs, construction, operation, administration and maintenance of a new runway, parallel taxiway, new control tower, new aircraft parking platform, and new air terminal stand out at Cartagena airport, located in Bayunca.
