The Government of Khanh Hoa province in Vietnam has submitted a proposal to implement the Van Phong - Nha Trang project, which is an 83-kilometer road connecting Van Ninh District’s Van Tho Commune to Dien Khanh District’s Dien Tho Commune. This highway section will be part of Vietnam's Eastern Part of the North-South Highway network. The highway will have a four-lane expressway that will allow the vehicles to travel at 100-120 kilometers per hour.

The estimated investment value for the project is VND12.90 trillion (US$560.30 million). Once the project is approved, the authority will start the tendering process in early 2022. The highway is scheduled to be operational by end of 2024.
