The Uzbekistan Ministry of Transport has extended the application deadline for the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) related to the Tashkent–Andijan toll road project.
The new submission deadline is now set for June 21, 2025, providing an additional 30 days beyond the previously announced date. The Ministry of Economic Development and Finance, in collaboration with the Committee for Motor Roads and supported by a consortium including PwC, Arup and Partners, and CMS Cameron, is overseeing the tender process. The selection will follow a two-stage approach: initially, companies will submit qualification documents, after which shortlisted applicants will be invited to provide detailed technical and financial proposals. The preferred bidder is expected to be chosen by April 2026.
Talks regarding the development of the Tashkent–Andijan toll road have been underway since 2019, with a central feature of the project being the construction of a new tunnel through the Kamchik Pass. The Public-Private Partnership Development Agency estimates that the toll for using the highway will likely fall between US$5 and US$6. The project will be implemented over six years in three phases: Tashkent to Angren (78 km), Angren to Pap (93 km), and Pap to Andijan (143 km).
