Mid Sussex District Council has appointed the family-owned cinema and entertainment company The Digital Picture House Limited as the operator of the new cultural development at Clair Hall in Haywards Heath, which will include a four-screen cinema and community facilities.
The operator will provide a four-screen cinema as part of a broader cultural and entertainment offering at Clair Hall. In addition to film screenings, the plans include a multi-use performance space, community facilities with professional sound and lighting, and a restaurant — all aimed at making the venue a lively social and cultural hub for the local community. The Digital Picture House Limited is a family-owned entertainment company with existing cinema and restaurant venues in Uckfield and East Grinstead, and has a history of community-focused cultural engagement. With the operator in place, Mid Sussex District Council will now proceed to find a development partner to design and build the mixed-use site around Clair Hall. This redevelopment could include not only the cultural and entertainment facilities but also other uses, such as residential space, to help fund the project.
