The city of New Haven (New Haven) in the USA has participated in a meeting with the city's board of alders, where the authority recommended the public-private partnerships (PPP) to more fully deliver the mixed-use development project in the city.

The project involves the development of a transit-oriented intermodal center around the Union Station. In September 2020, New Haven and the state of Connecticut signed a letter of intent with specific goals which include a 600-space parking facility, an intermodal center for local and regional bus users, and renovation of the station.

The new proposal also incorporates increased access for CTtransit buses and intercity buses, accommodations for shuttle buses, access for taxi and ridesharing services, and 600 additional commuter parking spaces, in addition to other development objectives, such as building new connections, improving access from the Lone Wharf area and the Hill neighborhood to the station, and reconnecting and rebuilding a section of Columbus Avenue. The campus upgrade includes improvements to the basement, first and second floors of Union Station; stairs, elevators and escalators; and public restrooms.
