The Sacramento County Department of Airports has announced expansion of Sacramento International Airport (SMF) in California, USA.

The project aims to cope with the airport’s projected growth over the next seven years. The projects include a US$140 million pedestrian walkway to connect Terminal B to Concourse B. In addition, the expansion will add gates, new amenities and a new Terminal B parking garage. There will also be a US$400 million rental car facility to allow passengers to hire vehicles without taking a shuttle bus.

The estimated cost of the project is AUD1.3 billion (US$904 million). The project is planned to be launched in 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2027.
