The São Paulo State Government, through the Secretariat of Investment Partnerships (SPI), and the concessionaire SPMar, responsible for implementing infrastructure on the Eastern Section of the Mário Covas Beltway (SP-021), have signed an Amendment Agreement securing funding for the Alto Tietê Road Complex.
The project includes the construction of new access ramps to Suzano and Poá, both inbound and outbound, in both directions of the Beltway. With an estimated investment of over R$1 billion (US$187.6 million), construction is set to begin in October 2025 and is expected to be completed by 2027. The goal is to increase safety, improve traffic flow, and offer greater comfort to drivers. In Suzano, access will be via a new loop on Avenida Brasil. Local roads will also be upgraded, including the installation of a pedestrian walkway. In Poá, the access roundabout will be completely remodeled, including the construction of a new overpass and improvements to access roads into the municipality.
