The Government of the State of São Paulo, through the Secretariat for Partnerships and Investments (SPI), has extended until November 24, 2025, the Public Consultation period for the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project of Metro Line 16–Violeta—also known as the Parks Line.
With an estimated investment of R$37.5 billion (US$7 billion), the first stage of the new line will cover 19 km with 16 stations (Teodoro Sampaio, Oscar Freire, Nove de Julho, Jardim Paulista, Parque Ibirapuera, Dante Pazzanese, Ana Rosa, Parque Aclimação, Parque Independência, São Carlos, Paes de Barros, Vila Bertioga, Álvaro Ramos, Regente Feijó, Anália Franco, and Abel Ferreira). This section is expected to serve an average of 475,000 passengers per day by 2040. Line 16–Violeta will feature eight interconnections with other lines.
