Saudi Arabia’s Roads General Authority (RGA), in collaboration with the National Centre for Privatisation & PPP (NCP), announced the companies that have prequalified for the Jeddah–Makkah Direct Highway Project.
Companies from Saudi Arabia, China, Italy and Turkey prequalified for the PPP project. The following bidders have advanced in the procurement process:
Jeddah-Makkah Direct Road consists of four lanes in each direction, spanning a distance of 64 km, and includes six intersections, one camel crossing, and five vehicle overpasses.
The EOI for the Jeddah–Makkah Direct Highway project and its associated Motorway Service Areas (MSAs) was issued in October 2024. The project is structured as a PPP that includes an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract for the existing Jeddah–Makkah Highway, together with a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Maintain (DBFOM) agreement for the development of four new service areas on both sides of the highway. The concession agreement for the project will run for a 10-year period.
