Strategic Partner Appointed for Regeneration Project in the UK

Wakefield Council has appointed Muse as its Strategic Regeneration Partner for Castleford, West Yorkshire, through Pagabo's Developer-Led Framework to deliver the town's long-term regeneration programme. The appointment was made through Pagabo’s Developer-Led Framework, which allows public-sector organisations to procure specialist development and regeneration partners.

Under the partnership, Muse will work with Wakefield Council to develop and deliver a shared vision for Castleford. The regeneration programme will focus on revitalising the town centre, improving links to the riverside, supporting economic growth, attracting investment and creating high-quality places to live, work and socialise. Castleford, the largest town in the Wakefield district, already benefits from strong transport connections across West Yorkshire and the wider North. The town has also received investment through the UK Government’s Town Deal and Pride in Place programmes, alongside ongoing improvements to its town centre and riverside. The new partnership is intended to build on these investments and accelerate Castleford’s wider regeneration ambitions.

Muse will also seek to support the delivery of affordable homes, improved public spaces and better-connected communities, while helping attract further investment. The partnership will take account of Castleford’s local identity, heritage and community needs as regeneration plans are developed. Over the coming months, Muse and Wakefield Council will develop a shared vision and delivery strategy for Castleford. Individual development proposals will then be brought forward for consideration and community engagement as the plans progress.
