The National Electricity Coordinator has launched an international public tender process with an investment referential amounting to US$ 513.9 million for the construction, execution and operation of 15 new transmission works and 14 conditional expansion works in Chile.

These initiatives are a supplement to the set of unconditional expansion works that were put out to bid in January 2023. For a referential investment of US$82 million, such a package featured 22 initiatives. The flow control system through the Parinas-Seccionadora Lo Aguirre electricity storage system is one of the new projects. It requires a total investment of US$211 million and must be completed within 36 months of the tender's granting.

The Electricity Coordinator has introduced a series of improvements to the tender process. For example, a special section for the technical specifications associated with the flow control system has been incorporated. Before 14 July 2023, businesses wishing to take part in the process must formally complete the acquisition of bases and register on the Participants Register. The tender is scheduled to be awarded by the Electricity Coordinator on November 3, 2023.
