Three consortia shortlisted for BART phase II PPP in California

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) in California, USA has shortlisted three consortia to deliver the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Silicon Valley Phase II project. The shortlisted teams are :

  1. The BART Silicon Valley Phase II Tunnel Partners (B2TP):  Acciona, FCC, Lane Construction Corporation, and Hatch Associates.
  2. Bay Valley Connect:  Bouygues, Vinci, Barnard Construction, and Parsons.
  3. Kiewit Shea Traylor Joint Venture:  Kiewit Infrastructure, JF Shea Construction, Traylor Brothers, and Arup.

The Phase 2 project is a six-mile, four-station extension that will expand BART operations from Berryessa/North San Jose through downtown San Jose to the City of Santa Clara. It will include a five-mile tunnel, two mid-tunnel ventilation facilities, a maintenance facility and a storage yard, three underground stations (Alum Rock/28th Street, Downtown San Jose, Diridon), and one at-grade station (Santa Clara).
