The Manila Water Company Inc., Aboitiz InfraCapital, and Balibago Waterworks System Inc. have expressed interest in bidding for the proposed PHP1.2 billion (USD 21.5 million) Negros Occidental Bulk Water Supply Project (NBWSP) in the Philippines.

The NBWSP entails funding, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining a bulk water supply system with a minimum capacity of 34.5 million liters per day, drawing from the Imbang River and/or the Malogo River. The initiative aims to deliver treated bulk water to six water service providers, including Bacolod City Water District, Silay City Water District, Talisay (City) Water District, Victorias City Water District, Manapla Water District, and the Local Government Unit of E.B. Magalona. By harnessing surface water, the NBWSP seeks to meet the rising water demand, providing a sustainable, potable, and resilient water supply for the people of Negros, thereby reducing reliance on groundwater and deep wells.
