The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) of Paraguay has announced that the bridge over the Akidaban River, located at km 520 of the PY08 motorway, which connects the city of Coronel Bogado with the city of Bella Vista Norte, has been renovated.

The site was in need of repair after being hit by heavy rainfall when several streams and rivers burst their banks, damaging roads and bridges in Amambay Department. The storm damaged Section 13 on several sections of PY05 and PY08, as well as adjacent roads. Rovial and Caldetec are working to repair and replace damaged material at the headwaters of the Akidaban River. The embankment material has already been replaced with raw stone to the level of the base with the aim of its restoration and subsequent completion with an asphalt layer above.

The hurricane most damaged such stretches as Colony 205-205 (Red Ditch), route Py05 - 45 km (Guavira), access to Indigenous community (Pikicua Colony), route PY08 - access to Bella Vista (Bella Vista- Aquidaban Crossing),  Santa Clara (Aquidaban River), route PY05 (Lorito Picada) and route PY08 - access to Bella Vista (San Nicolás). Repairs are also underway on a bridge in Caaguaçu department on the PY13-Zapatini Cue (Vaqueria) route, which collapsed due to an overloaded truck. The most serious problems were the collapse of bridges, floods, the collapse of sewer slopes, the isolation of settlements and roadblocks.
