The Chhattisgarh government has approved an estimated ₹50 crore (US$5.2 million) redevelopment of Nandanvan, a former zoo located in Atari village, Raipur district. The project will redevelop the site into a botanical garden and urban green destination under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The redevelopment will focus on reviving the existing botanical garden, upgrading infrastructure, improving landscaping and providing better public amenities. The project also aims to strengthen environmental conservation while creating a more attractive, visitor-friendly recreational destination for residents and tourists in the Raipur region.
