The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) of Paraguay has announced 88% progress of the construction of the Remanso — Ruta PY09 (Vista Alegre) — Puerto José Falcón public-private partnership (PPP) project in Paraguay.

The project involves the construction of 3 reinforced concrete bridges 15, 20 and 60 m long respectively. The 15-m bridge is complete, the 20-m bridge is 80% complete and the last bridge is 85% complete. The 20-m bridge has already been tiled and the deck slab is in the process of being assembled. On the 60-m bridge, the loading of the floor slab corresponding to the main span has already been completed and the third span is still in the process of installing tiles.

The improvement of the road section covers a total of 19.20 km, of which 9 are already asphalted, including 4.6 km with full markings. The implementation of this project will strengthen regional integration, especially with Argentina, through the construction of the Heroes del Chaco Bridge, which will connect Asuncion with the Western Region for the first time. The Puerto Falcon Consortium, consisting of the construction companies Benito Roggio e Hijos SA and LTSA, is responsible for the work, in the amount of PYG158.3 million (US$21.86 million).
