Ferrovial-led consortium Top End Mobility Group has been selected by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to finance, design, build, operate and maintain Phase 1 of the I-285 East Express Lanes project in Greater Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
A consortium led by Ferrovial and Top End Mobility Group has been selected to deliver the I-285 East Express Lanes project in Greater Atlanta, Georgia, under a major public-private partnership overseen by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the State Road and Tollway Authority, with an estimated construction value of US$8.9 billion.
The GDOT has chosen the Ferrovial-led consortium, which includes Tikehau Star Infra, to finance, design, construct, operate and maintain the first phase of the I-285 East Express Lanes project under a long-term agreement. This phase will comprise approximately 21 miles of new express lanes, along with important connections between I-285, I-85 and SR 400. The project aims to offer motorists more travel options, improve journey-time reliability and strengthen integration with Georgia’s expanding regional express-lane network.
Under a separate comprehensive development agreement, GDOT will also work exclusively with Top End Mobility Group to advance the remaining phases of the project. Once fully completed, the development is expected to deliver approximately 37.5 miles of new express lanes in each direction, linking major business districts, employment hubs and residential communities across Fulton and DeKalb counties.
