Meridiam has achieved financial close on the GBP 120 million (US$ 159 million) Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) project in Wales, UK.
The project involves the development of two campuses: the Barry Waterfront Campus and the Advanced Technology Centre. Situated near Cardiff Airport, the Advanced Technology Centre will offer state-of-the-art workshops and classrooms equipped for robotics, advanced AI technologies, rapid prototyping, 3D metal printing, autonomous drones, net-zero solutions, and training focused on “green skills.”
Together, the two campuses will serve nearly 2,900 students and form part of a broader portfolio of around a dozen educational projects, representing a total investment of approximately GBP 500 million (US$ 665 million). These initiatives are being delivered through the Welsh Education Partnership (WEP) as part of the Mutual Investment Model (MIM) and contribute to the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools and Colleges programme. This project is Meridiam’s third educational development in Wales, following the Rhondda Cynon Taff project — comprising three primary schools for 1,165 pupils aged 3 to 11 — and the Mynydd Isa Campus in Flintshire, an all-through school supporting 1,300 learners across primary and secondary levels.
