The Lyon–Turin Euralpine Tunnel (TELT) project has reached a significant milestone, with SYSTRA playing a pivotal role in its development.

The TELT is poised to become the world's longest railway tunnel, stretching 57.5 km beneath the Alps. This tunnel will serve as a critical component of the Lyon–Turin high-speed rail line, enhancing connectivity between France and Italy and forming a key part of the Mediterranean corridor within the European TEN-T network. SYSTRA is contributing significantly to the project through its participation in various work packages:

  • In France: As part of the S2IP project management consortium, alongside Setec (lead), Italferr, and Pini Group/ARX, SYSTRA is involved in work packages CO 6-7.

  • In Italy: Collaborating within a consortium led by Italferr, SYSTRA is engaged in work packages CO 3-4, CO 1, and CO 2, focusing on the interconnection of the tunnel and the Susa Plain.

Collectively, these efforts account for over 60% of the tunnel's final length, underscoring SYSTRA's substantial contribution to this monumental infrastructure project.
