The National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has announced a portfolio of railway, highway, fluvial and airport infrastructure megaprojects in Colombia.

The list of projects in the package are:

  • reactivation of the railway network of La Dorada - Chiriguaná; Bogotá – Belencito, and the Pacific Train;
  • structuring of the dual carriageway Pasto - Popayán, Villeta - Guaduas and Zipaquirá - Barbosa and the road connection of Sogamoso - Aguazul - Maní - Puerto Gaitán;
  • airports of Neiva, Cali, Buenaventura, Cartagena and San Andrés;
  • navigability of the Meta and Atrato rivers and maintenance of the port of Tumaco (Nariño).

The National Government is implementing these megaprojects as part of a strategy to encourage intermodality and the need to reorganize the logistics chain in order to lower logistics costs (transportation), create the best conditions for the operation's implementation, and raise levels of competitiveness.
