The PPP Directorate has signed a funding agreement with the Konza Technopolis Development Authority to support preparations for the expansion of the Konza National Data Centre and associated smart city facilities in Kenya.
The agreement was signed following a meeting between PPP Director General Eng. Kefa Seda and KoTDA Chief Executive Officer John Paul Okwiri. The project entered the PPP pipeline in December 2025 and aims to expand existing data centre infrastructure, strengthen Kenya’s sovereign cloud capabilities and accommodate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
The funding will support preparatory work, including the appointment of a transaction adviser to structure the proposed PPP, prepare it for market engagement and facilitate the eventual selection of a private-sector partner. The project is expected to enhance digital infrastructure, support public-service digitisation and improve service delivery.
