Hounslow Council, the Ministry of Defence (MOD), and the Greater London Authority (GLA) have announced their intention to work together to deliver one of west London’s most ambitious regeneration projects on MOD land in Feltham.
The "Future Feltham" masterplan, centered on the redevelopment of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) site in Feltham, is a landmark regeneration project driven by a collaborative partnership between Hounslow Council, the MOD, and the GLA. This initiative aims to transform one of West London’s largest brownfield sites, originally acquired during World War I, into a vibrant, housing-led neighborhood, with construction expected to commence in 2028. The project will deliver approximately 3,000 new homes, including a significant portion of genuinely affordable housing, addressing London’s pressing housing needs. Additionally, it will create around 9,200 jobs across commercial, creative, and skills-based sectors, while introducing new community facilities, leisure areas, green spaces, and enhanced transport and public realm infrastructure to reconnect Feltham with its surroundings. By adopting a "trailblazer" approach to public sector land development, announced earlier in 2025, the partnership leverages the combined expertise of national, regional, and local authorities to accelerate delivery and ensure sustainable, inclusive growth.
As emphasized by Hounslow Council Leader Cllr Shantanu Rajawat and Deputy Mayor of London for Housing Tom Copley, the project prioritizes affordable homes, community investment, and a lasting legacy for the borough, serving as a model for effective public sector collaboration to create a fairer, more prosperous London. The Masterplan Refresh is already underway, positioning the MOD site as a catalyst for broader transformation across Feltham.
