The London Borough of Hackney has brought forward housing development proposals for multiple sites as part of the Housing Supply Programme, which includes the De Beauvoir New Homes Project.
This project will deliver new homes, non-residential uses and public realm improvements across De Beauvoir Estate. All sites are currently in pre-planning/active planning stages. The existing De Beauvoir Estate consists of 870 homes built in the late 1960s, including five tower blocks ranging from 15 to 19 storeys. The regeneration project will bring forward up to 341 new homes (45% affordable, including around 90 for social rent) on ten underused infill sites, along with significant enhancements to the public realm and routes around the estate.
