PROINVERSIÓN's Executive Director, Luis Del Carpio, met with representatives of the Line 1 Metro de Lima concessionaire, led by Board President Manuel Wu, to advance the formulation of an expansion project aimed at enhancing infrastructure and service quality for the Villa El Salvador–San Juan de Lurigancho route.
The line currently transports over 600,000 passengers daily with three-minute peak-hour intervals, and both parties emphasized the need for investments to accommodate more users, improve efficiency, and reduce travel times. The concessionaire’s representatives, headed by Manuel Wu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Line 1, reaffirmed their commitment to continuing investments aimed at improving service quality, expanding user capacity, and substantially reducing travel times.
Currently, the Line 1 Metro expansion project is in the formulation phase. PROINVERSIÓN, in collaboration with the Urban Transport Authority (ATU) and the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), is carefully evaluating the technical studies presented by the concessionaire to ensure the project’s viability and effectiveness.
