ProInversión has announced the execution of Metro Lines 3 and 4 in partnership with private investors under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in Lima and Callao, Peru.
Metro Line 3 is planned as a fully underground route stretching about 38 km, featuring 29 stations and the capacity to carry up to 2 million passengers each day. Meanwhile, Line 4 will pass through 13 districts, include 28 stations, and serve around 600,000 daily users. In addition, the Lima–Ica Railway (280 km) and the Lima–Barranca Railway (245 km) are also part of the broader transport plan, both designed to integrate with the Lima and Callao Metro network.
The head of the Agency also noted that the country currently has 1,957 km of rail transport, of which 1,704.9 km is for public use and 252.1 km is privately operated. He emphasized the need to keep advancing projects that connect cities and strengthen economic development between the capital and the regions.
