Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Solicitor General have invited three teams to respond to an RFP to design, build, and finance 11 new detachments and one regional headquarters for Part 1 of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Modernization Phase 3 project. The three teams were shortlisted based on criteria identified in an RFQ process that began in May 2025. Selection criteria included design and construction experience as well as the qualified personnel and financial strength to deliver a project of this size and complexity. The shortlisted teams and their prime team members are:

  • Design Team: WZMH Architects

A successful bidder is expected to be announced in Spring 2027.

The new detachments will be constructed to replace aging infrastructure and upgrade OPP facilities. In addition, a new OPP headquarters for the northwest region will be built in Thunder Bay. The new detachments will be located in the following locations: Ignace, situated northwest of Highways 17 and 599; Espanola, on the north side of Panache Lake Road; Niagara, at Heartland Forest Road and Brown Road; and Wawa, at the junction of Mission Road (Highway 101) and Highway 17. Additional sites are in Bracebridge at 690 Cedar Lane; New Liskeard in Temiskaming Shores on Hawn Drive; Kenora on the south side of 14th Street North; Lancaster at 45 Pine Street; Red Lake on Hughes Crescent; Sioux Lookout, northeast of Highways 642 and 516; and Killaloe at the intersection of Wildlife Road, Round Lake Road, and Highway 60.
