The Government of São Paulo has signed the concession contract for the Paranapanema Highway Lot with Infra BR, a company of the Pátria Group, formalizing the partnership for the modernization and expansion of one of the main highway corridors in the countryside of São Paulo.

The project provides for estimated investments of R$ 5.8 billion (US$1.1 billion) over 30 years and strengthens the Raposo Tavares Highway (SP-270) as a strategic route for agribusiness and regional logistics. The concession covers 285 kilometers of highways, including sections of SP-270 (Raposo Tavares), SP-189 (Engenheiro Lauri Simões de Barros), SP-278 (Mello Peixoto), and access roads. The contract includes the duplication of more than 150 km, as well as the installation of pedestrian overpasses, bus stops, shoulders, service roads, and at-grade and grade-separated access points. The project also includes LED lighting in urban areas, camera monitoring systems (CCTV), variable message signs, connectivity along the corridor, weigh stations, and medical assistance with ambulances. Operations will feature 24-hour monitoring, traffic inspections, towing services, and rapid response, with performance targets linked to service quality. 

The regional impact directly reaches the municipalities of Angatuba, Bernardino de Campos, Buri, Campina do Monte Alegre, Canitar, Chavantes, Ipaussu, Itaí, Itapetininga, Ourinhos, Paranapanema, Piraju, and Tejupá. The full duplication of the Raposo Tavares corridor transforms the highway into a strategic alternative to the Castello Branco Highway (SP-280), connecting the countryside of São Paulo and the Central-West region to the Port of Santos. The Paranapanema Lot joins the Nova Raposo and Rota Sorocabana projects, forming a fully duplicated and upgraded highway corridor, improving traffic distribution and reducing logistical bottlenecks across the State.

The project is part of the SP pra Toda Obra program, an initiative of the Government of São Paulo that provides for improvements on 21.2 thousand km of highways managed by the São Paulo State Highway Department (DER-SP) and concessionaires, under the supervision of the São Paulo State Transport Agency (Artesp). Total investments reach R$ 30.5 billion (US$5.8 billion).
