Tender launched for infrastructure of Kaunas passenger station territory in Lithuania

LTG Infra has announced a tender for the infrastructure of the Kaunas passenger station territory in Lithuania.

Kaunas Passenger Station will have the status of an international Rail Baltica station. It will be a passenger communication center for passengers traveling on both broad and Rail Baltica railway gauge passenger trains. The infrastructure project for the territory of Kaunas Passenger Station will include the preparation of solutions for railway tracks and arrival and departure platforms of Rail Baltica. Solutions will also be prepared for the reconstruction of the existing pedestrian underpass, it is planned to build an additional railway bridge across the Nemunas River next to the existing Green Railway Bridge. 

The single procurement procedure for designing regional stations of the Kaunas-Vilnius section is divided into 2 lots: Vievis station and connection to the main railway line Vilnius-Kaunas and Kaišiadorys station and connection to the main line. The winner of the tender will have to design the railway infrastructure in Kaišiadorys and Vievis and the railway infrastructure to connect these stations with the main Vilnius-Kaunas railway line.
