Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has formally awarded the Programme Delivery Partner (PDP) Support Services contract to Jacobs AECOM to support the delivery of Ireland’s MetroLink project. Following a competitive procurement process, Jacobs AECOM will work alongside the MetroLink team to manage, oversee and coordinate the project’s construction, integration and commissioning phases.

The MetroLink project involves developing a 19-km high-capacity, high-frequency metro line from Swords to Charlemont in Dublin, with 16 new stations. The line is expected to provide a journey time of around 25 minutes between North Dublin and the city centre and, once operational, could carry up to 53 million passengers annually. As Programme Delivery Partner, Jacobs AECOM will provide project management, scheduling, construction and engineering oversight, helping TII coordinate the various contracts and delivery activities. The partnership is intended to ensure that the project is delivered within budget and schedule and to the required safety and quality standards.

The appointment marks a transition for MetroLink from the planning stage toward full-scale delivery preparation. TII has already begun procurement for major civil works and other packages, including contracts covering heavy tunnelling, stations and associated structures.
